Palmerston Crocs

Palmerston Rugby Union Club is one of the founding clubs of the Northern Territory Rugby Union, fielding teams in the original 1976/77 season.  Back then the city of Palmerston did not exist – the club was actually named after the original settlement in Darwin.  In 1984 we relocated south of the Berrimah line and in doing so, became the first major sporting organisation to call Palmerston home. We have our own clubhouse and offer the complete rugby experience for both the serious and social rugby player.

Over the years we have continued to grow and be an active part of the Palmerston community.  In 2014 our commitment to taking our role in the community seriously was acknowledged when we were awarded the NT Good Sports Club of the Year award in recognition of our work in providing a safe, family-friendly and responsible club. We also have strong links with the recently formed Palmerston Crocs Netball Club.

We have had many successes over the years, including:

•   premiership wins across all senior grades
•   significant presence in representative teams
•   successful junior program
•   pathways for both players and officials to further their rugby career
•   strong commitment to providing the best environment for our junior and senior teams

Probably our greatest strength however, has been the many amazing people that have made up the club over the decades – the players, the supporters and volunteers. Our club has thrived for close to 40 years thanks to the valuable contribution of all those involved.

In 2014 we were proud to be Division 2 finalists in the Hottest 7s Tournament.  We won the Pre-Season Cup and the B Grade Secretary’s Cup.  Both B Grade and the Under 17s won their premierships, the Under 13s were minor premiers and A Grade made the semi-finals. We had strong junior representation in all NT junior rep sides and seniors selected for the NT Mozzies. In January we ran a senior pre-season camp with guest coach Todd Louden (now assistant coach at the Melbourne Rebels) and for 5 weeks in October/November we ran a Junior 7s Tournament

If you would like more information about the club, please contact us on the details provided on the right.  You are also welcome to drop by our clubhouse during a training session on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons or come and see us at any game during the season.  We look forward to welcoming you to Palmerston Rugby Union Club. Go the mighty Crocs!
