The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for managing the organisation on a day to day basis including engaging staff and is delegated maximum authority by the Board to manage all operational matters. In NT Rugby's case a key role for the CEO is also to develop strategy and establish critical links between the sport, the Australian Rugby Union, Northern Territory Government and Corporate Partners..

The CEO provides reports and attends all board meetings but is not entitled to vote.

Strategy
•  Manage the strategic planning of the NT Rugby Union look for options to create new opportunity, develop & improve the profile of Rugby in the region and to generate revenue to grow.  
•  Work with Executive & ARU to develop an ongoing development plan for the growth of Rugby Union in the Northern Territory.
Financial / Business Operations
•  In association with the Executive develop recommend and implement annual business plans and budgets and enhance and maintain appropriate financial controls, statutory reporting, risk management and related programs to ensure efficient management of NT Rugby’s financial affairs.
•  Manage and monitor budget by tracking and approving expenditures and control costs,
Marketing
•  Manage & supervise the development and implementation of marketing, promotional and activities to promote player participation and spectator interest in NT Rugby Union.
Commercial
•  Manage and supervise all activities to evaluate and negotiate commercial opportunities including sponsorship and licensing opportunities, to strengthen and diversify NT Rugby’s revenue base.
•  Manage and maintain current Government relationships developing ongoing commercially successful partnerships.
Operations Event Management
•  Manage the regional and international competition events held within Northern Territory e.g. Hottest  7’s in the World and NT Country Championships.
•  Constructively work with joint venture partners including Government to maximise the outcomes and returns of the Hottest Sevens Tournament.
•  Explore and develop other similar events so as to enhance commercial returns and overall improve the development of the game in the Northern Territory.
•  Ensure event operational procedures are consistent & comply with prevailing ARU standards and guidelines.

•   Facilitate all ordering of Office equipment

•   Liaise with all outside contractors to limit costs & improve efficiency
Servicing & Marketing of Sponsorships
•   Service all sponsorship partnerships with the NTRU & Hottest 7s in the World
•   Innovate with new Marketing ideas & events which will capture the NT Rugby Community
•   Seek new sponsorship partnerships & maintain strong relationships with existing partners. (Bonuses for new sponsors attracted)
•   Media Liaison for the NTRU & Hottest 7s in the World

Rugby Development Manager

Responsible for matters relating to the sport itself, the Rugby  Development Manager’s  role varies from overseeing;

•   Implementation of programs to support the growth of Rugby at grass roots level to Coaches, Players, Referees and Administrators.
•   Manage interactions with Affiliates, Junior Clubs and Schools
•   Deliver Training Courses to a wide ranging of ability spectrums
•   Manage all player registrations & transfers
•   Facilitate the Competition Management system and provide leadership to all club administrators
•   Manage all rugby Judicial Procedures
•   Organise all Community Gala Days & Game Day delivery
•   Management of Teams & Results for the Hottest 7s in the World Tournament
•   Manage & Coordinate the Gold Squad Programs for U15 & U17
•   Work with the NTIS with high performing athletes
•   Work in conjunction with the ARU to deliver elite pathways
•   Coordinate all Senior & Junior Representative Team requirements
